Specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of pain anywhere in the body, Dr. Carr has been the chiropractic consultant to the New York Islanders affiliate Bridgeport Sound Tigers Hockey Team since the 2000/2001 season, is the team chiropractic physician for the Division I Sacred Heart University Pioneers sports teams, and is a faculty member at the University of Bridgeport College of Chiropractic since 1999.
As a chiropractor, Dr. Carr is specialized in the non-surgical treatment of pain. Chiropractors are well-known for their treatment of spinal pain, including neck, back and headache pain, and there is significant research to support chiropractic care for these problems.
Chiropractors also are trained to diagnose and treat non-spinal musculoskeletal injuries. As a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician, Dr. Carr has extensive experience treating shoulder, hip and foot injuries, as well as injuries to the remainder of the body. The first step in any patient visit begins with a history and physical exam, at which time Dr. Carr decides which patients he will treat, and which ones require referral to another physician. Dr. Carr also sends for x-ray or MRI evaluation when indicated.
