Tips For a Happy and Healthy Holiday Season
The holiday season is meant to be a time of great joy, peace, and time spent with loved ones. However, it’s nearly impossible to enjoy the holidays to their fullest if you’re not taking care of yourself.
From the OSG team, here are some tips to help you prioritize self-care this holiday season:
Protect Yourself Against Illness
Unfortunately, the holidays also line up with the dreaded flu season, and with a lot of togetherness among family and friends, everyone is at risk of getting sick. Protect yourself and others from illness by masking up, staying home and away from others who are ill or if you’re sick, washing your hands often and using hand sanitizer, and regularly disinfecting any frequently touched surfaces.
Make Time To Move
The holiday whirlwind may make it difficult to keep up with your regular exercise routines. If your schedule makes it tough to hit the gym, find other ways to move and get others involved! Go for a walk with your loved ones, do a quick indoor workout whenever you’re staying, shovel the snow out of the driveway, enjoy some winter sports, and more. Get creative and just do what you can and then enjoy how good you’ll feel knowing you stayed active.
Don’t forget to Hydrate
Cheers! Between those glasses of champagne and wine or other beverages, make sure to drink some water to rehydrate. Your body will thank you.
Enjoy Holiday Treats in Moderation
Oh, there are so many delicious festive desserts and snacks to choose from! Don’t skip out on the sweets and savory treats completely if you want, but just remember, it’s important to enjoy it in moderation!
Get Plenty of Sleep
The hype of the holidays may start to wear on you quickly if you aren’t sticking with your regular sleep schedule. Make sure you’re well-rested to enjoy all the festivities by getting enough sleep every night.
