Dr. Jacob Lurie grew up near Boston, MA and attended Brandeis University, graduating Phi Beta Kappa. He earned an MD/MPH at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where he was a Dean’s Scholar in Global Health. He completed his Anesthesiology Residency at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medicine within the tri-institutional learning environment, including the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC). Dr. Lurie was a Chief Resident and received the Outstanding Resident Award. He then went on to finish his training by completing a Pain Medicine Fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Lurie brings innovative and cutting-edge pain management techniques to OSG. He is described as attentive, calm, kind, and dedicated; he believes the best outcomes occur when doctors and patients partner together to find reasonable and holistic solutions to pain management. Dr. Lurie is passionate about global health, and he has performed medical research and volunteered abroad in Western Africa, Central America, and Southeast Asia. In his free time, he can be found antiquing, hiking, going on long runs, and avidly following New England sports teams.
