With more than 30 years experience, Dr. Malin is a fellowship trained Orthopedic Surgeon with a special focus on hip and knee Arthroplasty. He is committed to staying on the cutting edge of modern technologies and progressive surgical techniques. This pursuit has led him to be amongst the pioneering surgeons in the region utilizing the newest robotic surgery techniques and the direct anterior hip approach on select patients. Since 2018, Dr. Malin has mastered the MAKO Robotic-Arm Assisted Surgery, yielding better outcomes for his patients when compared to traditional methods.
Dr. Malin received his Bachelor of Science with distinction from Cornell University in Chemical Engineering and then pursued his medical degree at the prestigious John Hopkins University School of Medicine. After completing medical school, he was selected by John Hopkins to continue his education as a resident in the Department of Orthopaedics. Dr. Malin went on to complete advanced training at one of the most elite programs in the country, an Orthopaedic Fellowship in Adult Reconstruction at the Rothman Institute at Thomas Jefferson University.
Dr. Malin is currently part of the team at Orthopaedic Specialty Group and St. Vincent’s Medical Center, which includes the CT Orthopaedic Institute, where he serves as the co-director of Robotic Surgery. He is also on staff at Bridgeport Hospital, including the Milford Campus. Dr. Malin is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, The American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, the Eastern Orthopaedic Association, and the Connecticut Orthopaedic Society.
