Lead Radiology Technician

OSG is currently seeking a fulltime Team Lead for our Radiology Department. The ideal candidate must have experience and skills to as defined below.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Create weekly department schedule for all techs.
• Compile coverage for PTO.
• Handle call outs in the morning and coordinate coverage for the day.
• Train new employees, on all XRAY equipment. Teach techniques and specific views to OSG.
• Copy and create a training folder for every new employee regarding the XRAY departments rules, expectations, techniques and views.
• Respond to all XRAY Equipment malfunctions.
• Established relationship(s) with service reps from equipment company(s).
• Order and maintain radiation badges for techs and physicians.
• Collect radiation readings and notify the badge holder of any elevation in numbers.
• Review radiation protocols as required and implement/retrain if applicable.
• Create agenda for monthly department meetings. Develop criteria/subjects that need addressing and distribute accordingly.
• Communicate with immediate supervisor regarding issues and concerns as needed.
• Responsible for the timely approval of bi-weekly payroll to ensure staff accuracy in recording of hours and to validate any missing, edited punches, etc…
• Radiology Liaison for providers in all areas of the department.
• Radiology Liaison for Techs regarding daily department operations.
• Responsible for opening and closing offices for XRAY.
• Develop manual for the Radiology Department and update as needed.
• Assist in interviewing potential new employees for XRAY, train and develop new hires.
• Maintain yearly licenses on all techs.
• Make copies of our XRAYS to put on CD’s and/or print films.
• Print surgery films for MD’s and book Ultrasounds as needed.
• Collect and shred outside XRAYS and MRI’s monthly.

Qualifications

• Must have current Radiology License
• Experience in lead role a plus
